Guthrie is a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, born and raised on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. He is a lifelong advocate for strengthening Tribal rights, jurisdiction, and sovereignty. As the Executive Director of Project H3LP, a nonprofit located on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation working to develop lasting relationships with Tribal youth through a holistic process designed to help foster responsible development of Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual aspects of life.
