Cheryl Bird was the kid who wanted to be out on the prairie all day, exploring and learning the stories of the land and the people who came before. Raised on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, Cheryl was taught to value respect, humor, connection, and relationality. She brings this to her work as an Indigenous communications professional, connecting with our shared humanity to tell compelling stories about the many amazing, powerful things happening at Native Governance Center and throughout Indian Country. A mother of two, Cheryl still loves exploring the prairie with her family.
