GiveMN is hosting a special virtual fundraising event to benefit nonprofits across Minnesota. #GiveAtHomeMN runs from May 1-8, 2020.

Now, more than ever, Indigenous-led organizations need our dollars. They know best how to support their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Carly Bad Heart Bull, Executive Director of the Native Ways Federation, couldn’t have said it better:

“As Native non-profits and Tribal governments, we have the solutions to support our communities – including during this COVID-19 pandemic. However, to effectively implement those solutions we need allies who work with us to maintain existing services and, most importantly, provide additional resources.”

Here at Native Governance Center, sovereignty is at the core of what we do. Our mission is to support Tribes in strengthening their sovereignty by providing them with no-cost Indigenized tools and services. Over the past several weeks, our team has worked hard to create a set of resources geared specifically toward Tribal leaders responding to COVID-19. We’ve also shared stories about how Tribes and grassroots changemakers are responding innovatively and Indigenously to support their communities.

During this time, we’re also reminded of the need to be good relatives. To us, this looks like uplifting the work of Native organizations providing direct services to those in our community. During #GiveAtHomeMN, we encourage you to learn more about and donate to:

GiveMN is offering $68,000 in Golden Ticket bonus grants from May 1-8. Golden Tickets are random chance drawings from all donations made to Minnesota organizations. If your donation is selected, GiveMN will add a bonus grant to the organization you supported. Now is a great time to support Twin Cities Indigenous-led organizations!
